Matthew Heffernan
President and Chief Executive Officer

Matthew’s extensive experience of executive management in technology, sales, and business development continues to aid Zedi in achieving the vision of becoming the Global Leader of Production Operation Management. Matt was engaged as Director with the company prior to accepting this current position as President and CEO in 2006. In addition to his work at Zedi, Matt sits on the Board of Directors for Iunctus Geomatics Inc.
Matt is formally educated in electronic engineering technology at Algonquin College and business computing at the Anderkoch Institute.
Debra Deane
Vice President, Service Operations and Investor Relations

As the VP Service Operations, Debra is responsible for the Zedi’s gas chart processing services. In addition to her operations role, Debra has the responsibility to ensure complete integration of gas chart data on Zedi Access™. Debra also continues to have responsibility for Zedi’s Investor Relations program. She was appointed VP Service Operations in October 2009 having previously led the Marketing Team and the Customer Service and Support Team. Debra has more than 25 years of marketing and information technology management experience in a variety of technology related and oil and gas industries.
Debra has an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business.
Clement Gaudet
Chief Operations Officer

As COO, Mr. Gaudet is responsible for the commercial production and delivery of all products and services of the company. Clem is also responsible for setting the direction of information management for the company and providing technical services to Zedi’s customers and internal stakeholders. He brings over 20 years of experience in operations management, data communications, research and development.
Clem has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
Robert W. Gordon
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Bob has been with Zedi since 1992 at which time he served as VP, Operations and General Counsel. During his tenure he has held executive positions in finance, customer support, marketing and sales. Currently Bob continues his as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. Bob’s conservative and value based approach ensures that Zedi remains a transparent and dependable company.
Bob holds a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Alberta and currently serves on a number of boards.
Roderick Heard
Vice President, International Marketing

As VP International, Rod is primarily responsible for Zedi’s business development and expansion in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States as well as Asian markets. Since joining Zedi in 2001 he has held several executive positions including VP Corporate Development, CFO, VP Marketing & Sales and Investor Relations. In addition to his work at Zedi, Rod is a Director of Vector Industries and sits on the Governance Committee.
Rod has a Bachelor of Science in Geophysical Engineering from Queen’s University and an MBA from the Haskayne School of Business.
Dr. Tokunosuke Ito
Chief Technology Officer

As co-founder of Zedi, Toku continues to play a pivotal role at Zedi aiding in the design, development and evolution of products and technologies. Toku contributes to Zedi’s long term vision by identifying technology trends and industry changes that create opportunity for growth. His experience includes research and development work for the US Army Human Engineering Lab and Rocket Dynamics.
Toku holds a BSc, MSc and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
James Freeman
Chief Marketing Officer

James team is accountable for identification and delivery of innovative solutions priced to bring value to Zedi’s customers. He oversees the marketing operations for Zedi as well as the technical product development and tier 2 supports across all of Zedi’s services. He brings over 19 years of experience in domestic and international business, as well as technical management.
James holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Alberta.
Larry Spagnolo
Senior Vice President, Customer Solutions

As Senior Vice President of Customer Solutions, Larry leads a team that is dedicated to all customer facing activities that include both sales and customer service for North America. He is responsible for expanding Zedi’s footprint in the United States and increasing our value to our customers in Canada. Larry brings 26 years of executive management experience helping organizations rapidly grow and profit. He is an active member in the community and sits on the Board of Governors at NAIT.
Larry is a Graduate of the NAIT School of Business, Grant MacEwan University, The University of Toronto Rotman School of Business, and York University with studies in business and administration.
Joe Ollenberger
Vice President, Field Solutions

Joe leads Zedi’s field service team to provide operations management and support for our client’s unique needs in the field covering geographies from North Eastern British Columbia, central Alberta and now throughout 12 locations in the US. Zedi field services include contract well operations, inspection, supervision, measurement assurance and operations management to oil and gas producers. He will also prime our electrical and instrumentation contractor relationship strategy. Joe is accountable to increase market penetration in North America with a new focus on the USA as a result of the recent acquisition of Southern Flow.
Joe joined Zedi through the acquisition of J&J Oilfield Ltd. and brings over 31 years of construction, operations and entrepreneurial experience in the oil and gas industry to Zedi.
Grant Exner
Chief Financial Officer

As head of Zedi’s Finance Department, Grant is responsible for all accounting, taxation and financial reporting as well as treasury functions. Grant is a Chartered Accountant who brings 21 years of experience in executive, entrepreneurial and consulting roles spanning both the high tech and energy industries.
Grant earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan before becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Tory Nudd
Vice President, Strategic Business Development

Tory leads Zedi’s strategic business development. He is responsible to ensure Zedi’s services positively address customer’s business needs and enables them to accomplish demanding performance objectives and increase earnings. Tory is also accountable for securing large company deals and significantly expanding the Zedi Measurement Assurance Consulting practice.
His background in the oil and gas and service industry led Tory to Zedi in 2001. He has held Management, Director and VP Positions in Sales and Marketing, Business Development, Automation Solutions and Customer Service.
Tory brings 30 years of operations, engineering and project management experience to Zedi. He is a graduate of SAIT Polytechnic Instrumentation Engineering Technology.
