Role and Responsibilities

  • Sell a variety of instrumentation parts to oil and gas businesses
  • Design, implement, and execute short and long-term part sales strategies that will result in revenue/margin growth
  • Contact warehouse managers/buyers for parts needed for monthly/daily purchases
  • Implement knowledge of parts sales cycle
  • Support distribution channels at service centers
  • Provide competitive information such as bid situations, pricing data, quotes, or bundling arrangements in order to
    establish negotiated pricing contracts for assigned products
  • Perform product demonstrations and application support as needed
  • Improve product knowledge and sales techniques
  • Travel to call on prospective parts customers to solicit orders or talks with customers by phone
  • Receive orders and navigate through the process cycle
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of manufacturing department’s production and delivery
  • Research competitors
  • Coordinate all issues with key clients between supplier, accounting and service center
  • Hand-off automation/field opportunities/software to Business Development

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Preferably a secondary education in business or equivalent career experience
  • 3 years’ experience in buying, selling and negotiation in regards to oil and gas parts
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Strong ability to influence and deal effectively with multiple levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform successfully with limited supervision
  • Strong problem solving and decision making abilities
