On August 15th, Zedi was proud to serve as the title sponsor for the 9th Annual Sarah’s Wish Charity Golf Tournament at Springbank Links Golf Club, raising money for the Ronald McDonald House® of Southern Alberta. Sarah’s Wish Foundation is a charity that supports children with cancer through the form of subsidized accommodations and emergency funds. As you can imagine, many of the families who have a child going through cancer treatment experience a tremendous amount of emotional and financial stress and Sarah’s Wish in partnership with the Ronald McDonald House offer a comfortable place to call home for these families during this difficult time.

It gives Zedi great pleasure to give back to the communities where we live and work and we were honored to support and participate in this year’s golf tournament for the second year in a row. Zedi donated a total of 200 hours to the planning and overall execution of the day. The tournament was a great success and raised $20,000, which will cover 1667 nights of stay at the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta. Additionally, Zedi will be matching the $1,160 raised by a lemonade stand hosted by a family who had stayed at the Ronald McDonald House and experienced first-hand the support of Sarah’s Wish Foundation.

“Contributing our time and effort to support a charitable foundation like Sarah’s Wish is an important part of the Zedi culture in giving back to the communities where we live and work. It was a fantastic day out on the golf course and we were so humbled and honored to be a part of it,” said Larry Spagnolo, Senior Vice President of Market and Customer Solutions.

Zedi’s volunteer initiatives include donating over 50,000 hours to supporting various community organizations and educational institutions. Some of these include the Alpha House, Calgary Food Bank, Edmonton Food Bank. Fort Nelson Hospital Foundation, Inn from the Cold, Magic of Christmas, Meals on Wheels, The Mustard SEED, and the Northern Rockies Senior Society. Zedi also works with Partners for Life and Canadian Blood Services on a regular basis and continues to focus our efforts on helping with the Alberta flood clean-up.

Zedi Introducing Artificial Lift Technology to the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show

Posted by Community Contributor on Jun 3, 2013 1:57:00 AM

CALGARY, ALBERTA – (June 3, 2013) Zedi is participating in the 15th biennial Saskatchewan Oil and Gas show on June 5th and 6th in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. Equipped with their new interactive demo trailer, Zedi plans to showcase their innovative and highly optimized field technologies including the Zedi SilverJack™. This new technology will be presented at the show to demonstrate how pump operations can be simplified for the province’s emerging oil and liquid-rich gas wells.

The Zedi SilverJack has proven to be a cost-effective and operations-efficient alternative to traditional pump jacks, widely used in Alberta oil fields for the past four years. The hydraulic rod pump technology was designed with operations staff in mind, with a built-in controller that automatically collects the data through remote communications and provides it to production engineers online at any time.

At the push of a button, operators can adjust production with a few simple keystrokes, changing strokes per minute and stroke length while the unit remains pumping. The efficiency and reliability of the built-in controller combined with the remote Zedi Access web portal reduces the number of trips required to the site for the operator. Also, the unit eliminates production fluid leaks once thought common to hydraulic rod pumps with an internal stuffing box design that keeps fluid off the lease, saving operators hours of difficult labor shoveling out gravel to clean leakages.

“We’re excited to take part in the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas show this year and demonstrate how Zedi’s field technology solutions streamline well operations and assist in optimizing oil production”, says Tammy Exner, Manager of Product Marketing for Zedi. “We’re particularly excited to show how the Zedi SilverJack provides our customers with instant data, access to controls to make adjustments, and ultimately, lowers the risk of costly leaks with its unique internal stuffing box”.

The Zedi interactive demo trailer and a live Zedi SilverJack demo will be located at outdoor booth #502. Visit zedi.ca or contact Zedi directly at 1.866.732.6967 for more information.

Centrica Energy Upstream Turns to Zedi to Help Reduce Operating Costs

Posted by Community User on Apr 25, 2013 12:16:00 AM

CALGARY, ALBERTA (Marketwire – April 24, 2013) – Zedi Inc. (the "Company" or “Zedi”) (TSX VENTURE: ZED) – Centrica Energy Upstream implemented approximately C$1 million of Zedi technology that was purchased in late 2012 to automate 76 existing measurement sites across Western Canada. These sites were retrofitted with Zedi’s automated field devices, Smart-Alek and Zedi SCADA, in the first quarter of 2013. In addition, Centrica Energy will use the Zedi Access online platform to remotely monitor and control these sites.

“Implementing Zedi’s technology is an easy way to make sure our field personnel are making the best use of their time. They can quickly determine which sites require their attention and are no longer driving to sites that are working well. They can make changes remotely and, most importantly, they can quickly zero in on those sites that are down or having production issues”, says Dave Martin, Cost Control Specialist of Centrica Energy Upstream. “In today’s natural gas environment, using technology at site is an important tool to help us reduce operating costs while maximizing production volumes. We like the fact that Zedi can provide the equipment, engineering, web portal and ongoing support for our teams. It made it easy and cost effective to implement, as shown with installation completed in 8 weeks across northern and central Alberta”.

With Zedi’s field technology and Zedi Access online platform, production data moves automatically from the well head to Zedi Access in real time. The consolidation of data on one secure website gives customers the ability to make instant decisions and changes on their wells, track trends and produce reports on an individual site or an entire field. This helps with prioritization of activity to reduce operational costs, production downtime and exposure to regulatory audits. The ability to automate the import of Zedi Access daily volumes to a field data capture platform has freed up the operators from manually entering numbers to focus on production and other corporate priorities.

“We applaud the leadership role taken by Centrica Energy to reduce costs in a tough commodity price market”, says Larry Spagnolo, Senior Vice President of Market and Customer Solutions for Zedi. “Their choice of Zedi’s technology validates our belief that sound strategic planning of operational practices can lead to becoming one of the lowest cost producers, which is what it takes for them to achieve their corporate goals”.

Zedi Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ZED) helps the world’s oil and gas producers be more productive, more profitable, and more sustainable through technology backed by expert consultation and services. Great Place to Work - Best Workplaces 2013

CALGARY, ALBERTA – (April 10, 2013) – Zedi has been recognized for the fifth year in a row as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada, a list appearing in a special national report on Wednesday April 10th, 2013 in The Globe and Mail.

“Being a great place to work is an incredibly important goal for Zedi, and something everyone who works here strives to achieve”, says Zedi CEO Matthew Heffernan. “I truly believe that fostering a healthy workplace environment powers everything we achieve as a company. Because our employees enjoy coming to work, because they are empowered to innovate, because they are truly a part of a team, we get the results we need as an organization and can offer our customers the results they demand. We are proud of being recognized five years in a row, and are dedicated to making improvements to ensure continued recognition in the future”.

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a rigorous representation of the organization from an employee perspective, and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Major Redesign for Zedi’s Oil and Gas Cloud-Based Production Platform

Posted by Community Contributor on Jan 25, 2013 3:57:00 AM

CALGARY, Alberta – (January 25, 2013) – Zedi Inc. launched its redesigned online production data platform, Zedi Access on January 24, 2013. Created with input from a team of customers, the new Zedi Access offers a fresh interface with an improved design and increased mobile capability making it more intuitive to use.

“Our customers work in a demanding environment with labor shortages, strict regulations, and volatile commodity prices. So, what they need first and foremost are tools that save them time so they can focus on their core business, finding and extracting oil and gas”, says Larry Spagnolo, Senior Vice President of Market and Customer Solutions for Zedi. “For over 10 years, Zedi Access has been a powerful tool to give remote visibility to the production data needed by producers to make decisions faster. With this new design, we’ve created an improved platform where customers will get that visibility and get their data faster and easier than before”.

Zedi Access is one of the largest cloud-based oil and gas production platforms in the market. Regardless of the measurement device used, SCADA, EFM or chart, Zedi Access gives oil and gas producers a common online platform, with increased mobile capability, to access their data, remotely control their sites, and report on activities and trends regardless of whether they are in the field or at head office. Throughout the day decisions can be made to act on or prioritize activities thus reducing operational costs, production downtime and exposure to regulatory audits.

This redesign comes on the heels of Zedi’s significant Oracle upgrade to their database infrastructure and is part of their ongoing commitment to innovation and cloud-based computing.

Improvements to Zedi Access bring together the latest in web design and functional upgrades, further simplifying and improving the customer experience.

Zedi Closes Significant Deal with Crescent Point Energy for Artificial Lift Technology

Posted by Community User on Jan 21, 2013 1:20:00 AM

CALGARY, ALBERTA (Marketwire – January 21, 2013) – Zedi Inc. (the "Company" or “Zedi”) (TSX VENTURE: ZED) - Zedi completed a purchase agreement in late December 2012 with Crescent Point Energy (“Crescent Point”) to equip Crescent Point’s new drill program near Viking, Alberta, with the Zedi SilverJack artificial lift system. Crescent Point also agreed to purchase Zedi Oil Well Test for nearly 250 active well sites. This purchase represents a significant investment in Zedi’s oil offerings.

“Crescent Point is always eager to find innovative methods to improve production and deploy field technology”, says Neil Smith, Vice President Engineering and Business Development from Crescent Point Energy. “We’ve adopted Zedi SilverJack because our installation time is now hours instead of days, and our operations team finds the control panel easy to use both at the well and remotely. This flexibility improves our overall performance and saves costs.”

Crescent Point will begin testing their wells using Zedi’s Oil Well Test in the first quarter of 2013. Zedi Oil Well Test is expected to allow for the completion of more tests with less effort, which is expected to reduce the frequency of orifice plate changes and eliminate data errors that happen if an operator is not able to be on site at a specific time. The deployment of this new technology is expected to help Crescent Point meet their 2013 growth goals.
