CUSTOMER
United States municipal water, wastewater and natural gas provider
CHALLENGE
A municipally owned water, wastewater and natural gas utility provider was seeking a cost-effective solution for remote monitoring and alarming of the gate/district and Industrial meter stations, eleven locations in total.
They we’re previously relying on paper chart recorders for pressure monitoring which required personnel to make weekly trips to replace paper charts.
The utilities company was looking for a cloud based SCADA platform to store operating data to improve compliance and ensure stronger public and personnel safety.
SOLUTION
We provided communications equipment to monitor gas flow meters and over pressure protection systems. Gas flow measurement and pressure data from meter stations will be communicated via cellular network to Emerson’s Zedi Access.
Emerson’s Zedi Cloud platform will enable the customer to monitor and remotely control meter stations from our secure cloud application in a single source for the companies’ employees to actively see accurate information depending on user authorizations granted.
With the Zedi go mobile app, employees have real-time access to site information from any mobile device. The app allows for alarms to be automated and delivered directly to the utility’s personnel phones, enabling rapid response to overpressure events.
Our solution delivered a cost-effective comprehensive data management and monitoring system backed by 24/7 support allowing our customer to manage their system more effectively and efficiently while delivering significantly enhanced safety to the communities they serve.
