Update for December, 2017

The Zedi EAGLE (Enhanced Aboriginal Growth Learning Energy) program continues to gain momentum and we will be graduating 2 more students from the 2nd intake of the program.

These students are at the top of their class!

They will join the workforce under the mentor ship of various industry producers. NENAS and Treaty 8 have been a tremendous help in attracting, vetting and preparing students for this program.

With the help of TETA and NENAS we were able to secure 31 applicants for our 3rd intake. We are very pleased to announce that 6 of the applicants have been accepted by NLC!  It was a difficult task to narrow down the enrollment to 6 students, but with assistance from NENAS, TETA , interviews with NLC and Zedi, we are confident we will have another 6 strong candidates for full time employment fulfilling the needs of area producers and a career path for these dedicated students.

“The oil and gas field operator course was a great course helped me a lot in what I should expect on the real job. Safety was priority and I’m glad I took the course to open opportunities as an Operator. I now love my job flowing gas wells, and troubleshooting problems. I haven’t had the opportunity to do in the past something that makes me feel important, and a contributor to a team. The instructor was very helpful, and knowledgeable, and I felt I was going to do great with his guidance, and I did do great. I can now support my family and enjoy my career as an Operator. The whole Zedi EAGLE program has been a great opportunity for me, and I encourage others to participate in this very important initiative. I am so grateful for this opportunity”

“It has been great working with NLC, NENAS, and Zedi to bring meaningful long-term career opportunities to our members within the region. The program offers our members hands on experience in facility operations; giving them the knowledge they require having a positive impact on their employment experience and communities. I am looking forward to seeing member participation and industry support continues long into the future.”

Update for June, 2017

From operational complexity to fluctuating commodity prices, to a lack of available skilled personnel, today’s oil and gas producer faces new challenges in the quest to be more productive, more profitable and more sustainable.

These challenges require new tools and new ideas to overcome them.

The Zedi EAGLE (Enhanced Aboriginal Growth Learning Energy) program is based around creating sustainable employment opportunities in the oil & gas industry for trained members of aboriginal communities.  For several years Zedi has taken great pride in building strong relationships with Aboriginal communities in the areas where we operate.

We have built these relationships based on respect, trust and transparency in an effort to create sustainable employment opportunities in the oil & gas industry for trained members of aboriginal communities.

The Zedi EAGLE program currently has a group of Zedi EAGLE students that are successfully finishing the current course, and being placed into the workforce.  With the current course wrapping up, we are now sourcing and screening qualified candidates interested in the next 'Oil and Gas Field Operations' course.  This is an 18 week program, combined with a 3 week Certification through Northern Lights College.

Now is the time to learn more about how you can begin your career in oil and gas production through the Zedi EAGLE program!

The next course begins in September.  Please contact us to learn more, and begin the application process.

Update for March, 2017

It’s with tremendous respect to our partners in local Aboriginal communities that we proudly announce we now have swiftly moved forward with Zedi EAGLE (Enhanced Aboriginal Growth Learning Energy) program.  For several years we’ve been a strong supporter of Aboriginal programs and have built strong relationships with Aboriginal communities in the areas where we operate.  We have  built these relationships based on respect, trust and transparency.

Our goal with the Zedi EAGLE program was to create sustainable employment opportunities in the oil & gas industry for trained members of aboriginal communities.  In the early stages of Zedi EAGLE we already have two exceptional Aboriginal students that are excelling and realizing their own potential with their current studies.  The Instructor even stated:

“One of the students will be his rock star;  He is a born leader that is very confident, and outgoing!”

Everyone at Zedi is held accountable to our values, and we are doing just that with the EAGLE program as it moves forward thriving with our Aboriginal partners.  Next week we will be meeting with various Chiefs and members of Treaty 8.  Local media will also be in attendance.  In addition to the recent EAGLE program successes, it has also generated additional local excitement within the communities and has already encouraged 8 additional students to apply for the next session.

Zedi recently donated another Zedi Smart-Alek, and a Smart-Skid and are supplying every student  access to Zedi Access and SCADA to encourage more access to enhanced learning and the tools to do so.  The college is extremely pleased with this program and asked for our assistance in their trade shows and recruiting sessions to speak about the Zedi EAGLE program.

It’s clear the Zedi EAGLE program is quickly gaining speed and becoming an exceptional addition to generate community involvement in realizing production potential.
